My car was giggling when I'm accelerating & needed to be looked at. I went to an auto repair shop nearby. That repair shop wanted to repair my transmission and gave a quote of $4,900. It floored me because I didn't realized my transmission was in such bad shape. This repair shop nearby did a "diagnostic" which cost me $300. I told them that I will bring my car back in the shop because of a previously committed engagement & it's obvious, my car was still drivable. A few days later, I called this repair shop near me to let them know that I'll be dropping my car off later in the week. I guess it was a slip of the tounge when they told me that, "no problem. Your car is in good shape. We really couldn't find anything wrong with your car" So, what was that $300 diagnostic, and the $4,900 quote was for? Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment with that repair shop near me. I went to Honea's Automotive after someone suggested to see Doug, the owner. Doug had a lot of cars in his lot. He was very busy, but pleasant when I approached the counter. I told him briefly what I was experiencing with my car and he said, "no problem, we'll take a look at it". A few hours later, Doug called to tell me that I need my transmission flushed and gave me the cost. Doug saved me about $4,480. A few weeks in and my car is running very well. Thank you Doug for being so honest and not trying to rip me off. You are now my new car repair man. God bless you.
